If you’re anything like us, then you can’t get over how totally cute our packaging is! Inspired by beakers, flasks and test tubes, who wouldn't want these clever little bottles to take on a second life! If you’re coming to the end of some of your favorite Naturelab Tokyo items, we want to suggest a few ways you may be able to reuse them around your house!

Plant Propagation:

We can picture it now, a modern day horror story. It’s your morning shower and you reach for your favorite Naturelab shampoo, only to find (much to your dismay) that you just used the last pump! Whereas you may normally think to reach for the trashcan, we have something greener (and chicer) in mind.

Instead, opt for a plant propagation station! It’s the perfect way to add a little more life into your house, without having to tap into your wallet! No need to make that extra nursery trip, simply remove a stem from one of your thriving houseplants (Pothos, Philodendron, Monstera, Aglaonema, and Anthurium are all great choices!) and be sure to include a section of stem that includes a small brown root node (found below leaves or vine junctures). Relocate your new friend into a container of water and Mother Nature will do all of the rest!

If that wasn’t simple enough, bulb-shaped propagators are not only trendy, they’re already at your disposal if you own one of our shampoo and conditioners! Simply twist off the top, rinse thoroughly, add water and enjoy!

Pro Tip: Be sure to change the water every couple of days so it doesn’t get murky and once the root is about 1 inch long (about 4-6 weeks), they’re ready to transfer to potting soil!

Miniature Flower Pots:

Another plant project, because clearly, we’re into nature. If you’re looking to add a small and low-maintenance plant to dress up one of your indoor shelves, our Repair Treatment Masque or Scalp Scrub are the perfect size! Simply peel off the label and add a small air plant or bamboo for a cool and earthy accessory to your favorite space!

DIY Household Spray:

How can we forget our amazing Shine Oil Mist and Volume Texture Mist silhouettes? The perfect size to repurpose for a DIY fabric refresher or household spray! For an easy do-it-yourself project, you can opt to create your own deodorizing spray, minus the synthetic ingredients (yes please). To make, combine a tablespoon of baking soda with a few drops of your favorite essential oil and fill the rest of the bottle to the top with distilled water! Spritz into the air or onto furniture whenever desired, for a fresh and uplifting boost of fragrance that’s toxin-free!

Plastic pollution is currently one of the biggest threats to our environment, so any amount you help keep out of landfills can go a long way over time! Stay tuned for more ways that NatureLab plans to help reduce our carbon footprint in the near future and to check out any of the items we mentioned above, head to NatureLab.com to shop!
