Change is part of life, and your hair is no exception. But when hair changes, most often because of stress and age, a loss in its vitality can make you feel less like yourself.
We wanted to find a way to slow down this process, to return hair to its fullest potential and return to ourselves.
Saisei is the culmination of over a decade’s worth of research and craft. The effects of stress and time on hair can vary in complex ways, so combating them with a single solution is no small feat. We took our core practices – pulling inspiration from Japan and its traditions, addressing root causes instead of symptoms of hair issues, and harnessing powerful ingredients from nature – and brought them to a new level. Saisei contains the most advanced technology of any of our lines so far with concentrated peptides that penetrate cells beneath the scalp and work to actively reverse signs of hair aging. Premium extracts from resilient botanicals also help soothe the scalp and strengthen hair at the root.
In order to do justice to such a potent product, we took on a new visual direction with elevated imagery. Incorporating multiple styles allowed us to convey both the deeper science of this formula and a warmer sense of individuality. It’s inherently personal when your hair changes, no matter your hair type, and Saisei’s role in your hair journey is also personal.
For another visual connection to our roots, we also looked to collaborate with an artist who shared our perspective on balancing tradition with modernity. We were delighted to meet and partner with JUURI, a Japanese American muralist and illustrator who interprets elements from her heritage in her own distinctive style.
Inspired by techniques and compositions of the Japanese art genre ukiyo-e, her depictions of our key ingredients and lush, dreamy hair bring another beautiful dimension to Saisei.
Change often means a chance to restart. Saisei was inspired by the change in seasons, particularly the rebirth of spring after winter. Now, we’re entering our own new season. We hope you love it as much as we do.
